Many of you will know or have come into contact with Debbie Rolfe, through the wonderful local Portage service and through the Early Years Inclusion team and Early Support. Sadly Debbie is leaving her position in Greenwich this month. She’s been working with families for years, getting countless children on the path to doing really well. She’s been a source of lifeline support, humour, insight and common sense to many grateful parents and carers, and has made a huge difference to the outcomes of so many of our children.
We will really miss Debbie!
Here’s a letter from Debbie to all Greenwich parents and carers:
As I prepare to leave Greenwich after 14 years of exciting and varied activity, I would like to pause just to offer you all my sincere thanks for any part you have allowed either me or the people in the teams working under me to play in your lives and those of your precious little ones.
You have honoured us with your trust, openness and honesty, and although relationships have always remained professional, (and occasionally with the odd bumpy bit), they have been at times very far-reaching.
I cannot quantify how much I have learned from you, and from working with you and your children, either directly or through team members, but can only say that you and your children have been a vital part of my journey from Qualified Teacher input to Settings, to the manager of the Prospects Early Years Team, and the professional I am today.
I have also really enjoyed working with members of Greenwich Parent Voice and other parent groups in more formal arenas.
I regret that changes mean that I have to move on, but from a personal perspective I will take with me so many memories of challenges met, experiences shared and so many children……lots of treasures for my memory box!
I wish all of you the very best for the future.
