    We are delighted to welcome back Steve Broach, leading barrister in disability law, who will be coming to Greenwich on 27 January to talk to parents all about the new EHC Plans. His presentation will focus this time on the EHC plans both for parents new to the system, and for parents whose children are transitioning from Statements to Plans. In addition, any parent who thinks their child has special educational needs and is interested in asking for an EHCP assessment for their child is welcome to come.     Get in the festive mood with our free creative session in Westcombe Park, Greenwich. We will be getting together to chat and craft in this cosy cafe with hot drinks and cakes supplied!     “Home” by author Toni Morrison is the next GPV book group novel. We are meeting this Wednesday 25th November at 10.30am until 11.30am in the Café in Marks and Spencer, Eltham High Street, SE9 1TQ. This month’s book is an easy read all about the power of friendship, so there’s still time to dip in and make a start even if you don’t have time to finish it.     Walk with us around beautiful Royal Greenwich Park on Friday morning. Winter colours are emerging; silvery branches and red berries, evergreen firs and festive hollies. You’ll find huge piles of fallen leaves to kick through and dramatic tree-scapes to admire. Find peace and companionship with other parents who understand in this glorious ancient natural space.     11 Nov: Winter Walk in Avery Hill Park

    Join with us for a winter walk across the green meadows of Avery Hill Park. This magnificent open parkland is a hidden gem in Eltham. It comprises undulating areas of conservation grassland which is left to grow naturally long in the summer.  Various mature tree specimens are to be found throughout, and there are also areas of young woodland and scrub.  The headwaters of the River Shuttle flow south, then east, through the park.     16 October: Greenwich Park walk

    Join us on at 10am in Greenwich Park at Blackheath Gate for our popular GPV walk around the park. It’s looking very beautiful at the moment with trees begining to turn to orange and leaves and conkers falling!     Half-term activities for 13-25 year olds

    As part of the Short Breaks respite service, Charlton Athletic Community Trust is hosting a range of exciting activities and trips every day during the October half term (26th October – 30th October). This provision is for young disabled people in Greenwich aged 13-25. Our staff all have plenty of experience in working with ASD, cerebral palsy, PMLD and learning difficulties, as well as many other disabilities.
